Licensed to practice in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Ontario. (she/her) I am a Registered Social Worker and therapist based in Kjipuktuk (Halifax, Nova Scotia), a beautiful little Canadian province on the East Coast. I am a white, anglophone, able-bodied, straight-sized, Queer/Bisexual, cis-gender woman of settler background. I entered the field of mental health because of my own lived experiences, including recovering from an eating disorder; so helping others to recover or improve their relationship with food and body is a passion. I work from a belief that disordered eating or food/body difficulties or concerns can come from a place of feeling unsafe in the bodies we inhabit-- for many different reasons. With this in mind, I work from a trauma-informed approach where clients collaborate in the therapeutic process. My university degrees include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Bachelor of Social Work, and a Masters of Social Work. I have worked in interdisciplinary healthcare teams providing mental health service delivery across university, federal governmental, provincial governmental, and non-profit settings. My therapeutic areas of practice have primarily been with depression, anxiety, disordered eating, and death/bereavement.
