Kalyn Garcia (she, her, hers) has been a registered dietitian nutritionist at the Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center since 2016. She teaches group programs and cooking classes, leads workshops and presentations in the community, and oversees KRNC marketing efforts. Kalyn is a nutrition counselor and works with clients to address a variety of nutrition needs, and has additional experience with intuitive eating, diabetes prevention, diabetes management, heart health, gastrointestinal conditions, disordered eating, eating disorders, prenatal nutrition and more. Kalyn grew up in Newbury Park, California, then moved to Fort Collins to study journalism at Colorado State University. After working in public relations, Kalyn went back to CSU to pursue a master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics. She completed her dietetic internship in 2016 and worked in clinical nutrition at Northern Colorado Banner hospitals, cardiac rehab, and WIC (Women, Infant Children) before landing at the Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center. Kalyn uses an intuitive eating framework to guide clients through their healing journey. Whether it’s breaking free from dieting or working through a medical-nutrition concern, she helps clients apply science in a way that authentically aligns with their values and priorities, which brings about meaningful, sustainable behavior change. With Kalyn, nutrition care focuses on nourishment, empowerment, skill-building, prevention, and enhancing overall well-being, not the scale and rigid meal plans. Kalyn is direct, yet empathetic, and takes the time to understand her clients’ story. She collaborates with clients to connect dots, find core issues and shine light on pathways toward personal goals. She does this while creating a welcoming and inclusive space for clients to explore any concerns, stress and shame around health, eating and body image.
