Julie has worked in the fitness industry for over 20 years, initially working with dance and fitness icon Toni Beck. In the early 90s, (way ahead of its time) they created self-care workshops for executive women highlighting the importance of movement as a form of stress relief and wellbeing. Julie then obtained her Pilates Certification from the Physical Mind Institute, which led her to create her own fitness program combining elements of ballet, pilates, and physiotherapy to alleviate her persistent back pain. For over a decade now, she has owned Julie Harrison Studio working privately with clients ranging from young women to over-scheduled mothers to women in their 80s. It is this work that brought her to create The Intuitive Way. Working with so many types of women over all these years, she recognized how many women are trapped in the diet cycle and only exercise out of obligation. Combining her own unique movement philosophies and Evelyn Tribole (MS, RDN) and Elyse Resch’s (MS, RN) revolutionary Intuitive Eating principles, she developed The Intuitive Way, a program that helps women find the joy in movement and food again. The Intuitive Way is a process that teaches you how to access your natural, intuitive abilities to take care of your precious body. Julie also works with young dancers at the Texas Ballet Theatre Dallas school, and has taken adult ballet as her form of intuitive movement for over 30 years, where her 12-year old poodle, Misha, joins her weekly.
