                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hi everyone. I’m new to IE and working through the 4th ed Tribole &amp; Resch book. I’m wondering how you all were able to fully reject diet culture. I’ve been aware of the research for years - how diets can lead to eating disorders and weight gain, the risks of weight cycling, etc. Logically I know that diets don’t work.</p>
<p>But the idea of abandoning hope of losing weight (and more-so being smaller) is kinda terrifying to me. I don’t care about the numbers on the scale, but I do struggle with the idea that rejecting diet culture may mean that I might never be able to fit comfortably into an airplane seat or be comfortable at a concert, even more scary is the thought that I might never be able to go on carnival rides, trampoline parks, etc. with my daughters. That is what I’m really struggling with.</p>
<p>Any advice on this is appreciated.</p>]]></content:encoded>

I got desperate recently and tried the Simple app. After logging every single thing for 24 days, I cancelled my subscription. I realized the daily weigh ins and tracking everything was making me obsess over food. I got down on myself because I did not lose weight, but gained it. No more. I did IE over 20 years ago. I got lost somewhere along the way. I have found my way back. I am trusting myself. </p>]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hi everyone,    I have noticed a surprising thing that is helping me embrace the diversity that exists in the size of human bodies.  I recently started watching The Price is Right on tv.   My reason was the need for something light and fun to start my day.  What I’ve noticed is the amazing variety in the size of the contestants.   I am aware of subtle changes in my view of larger bodies.   I am more accepting.   This is helping me to be more accepting of my larger body.  <br />Maureen</p>]]></content:encoded>

Its SO HARD to allow ourselves to not 'do' IE all at once, but instead in stages. That is an example of how diet mentality remains in hold of us - all those dieting RULES!! Well IE has NO RULES, only suggested principles that one can use as guidelines towards behaviors that support and please our bodies. </p>
